received this today as an email from my friend Cindy
Hale in Texas, and I pass it on to you all for comment and suggestions. The
part that rings particularly true to me is that the Obama program seems to be
just how Dick Daley maintained his power when I was a boy in Chicago. So why
couldn’t that be what the former Senator from Illinois is doing now? Previously, this site entertained only one document,
entitled “The hazards of
public housing.” It is an essay in disappointment,
exhibiting yet another unfortunate moment in the perpetual war between races.
Presumably this report will not endear me to the people who control my
housing, my health, and even my well-being. However, I truly believe someone
had to say what is said here, regardless of consequences. Pray for me. |
